HyunA Knowles releases "French Discotheque" single!

After announcing her Japanese debut under record label SLAVEX"Supermodel Idol" HyunA Knowles has finally released her first single "French Discotheque"!

"French Discotheque" is an aggresive upbeat track with the concept of a 'young and flirtatious French lady having the best time of her life in a retro discotheque' which is being called an official homage to the late Tiffany Taeyeon. The song, that is produced by well-known Japanese producer Shinichi Osawa, has rich instrumentals with influences of French music and Japanese idol pop, combined with the autotuned voice of HyunA, making it perfect for Summer time fun.

The single also comes paired with a coupling song "IT'S A TRAP!", which is a sexy disco track that features a medium tempo and a seductive vocal delivery. "IT'S A TRAP!" is also produced by Shinichi, and plays off Italo-disco music combined with French accordion and classic bass sounds. Hyuna's latest Korean chart topper "Lazy Gürl (Bunny's First Love)" also appears in the limited edition as a bonus track, which is sure to please all of HyunA's J-Poppers.

Speaking to Tokyo Dive, Hyuna humbly revealed, "I'm very confident that my song will do amazing on the charts. French Discotheque is such a fun and iconic anthem that no one has ever done before. It also has a deep meaning, as it's about lost idol Tiffany Taeyeon. I know she is rotting away at the bottom of the ocean as her corpse is eaten by the fishes and sharks, so I wanted to do something positive by singing about the fun she must have had partying at the French Discotheque when she was still alive."

"I believe this song will dethrone Namie Amuro from the #1 spot and remain there for the rest of the year because my album has a better cover photo and nice font. I'm anticipating my loyal J-Poppers to skip their classes or works and do flashmobs for the song in subway station and public sauna. My Japanese fan cafe has almost 250 members, so I know the streets of Tokyo will be filled with my fans on release day."

Due to HyunA's unorthodox racial background, the Japanese media has compared her to Blasian songstress Crystal Kay. In response to the comparison, HyunA revealed, "I refuse to be mentioned in the same sentences as her! I don't want her bad luck rubbing off on my single and making it flop. Next question!"

Along the release of HyunA's Japanese debut single, netizens have been flooding our forum to share their thoughts. Comments include: "French Discotheque is so catchy! Disco lady, disco lady! I'm a fan!", "This is much better than the crap she releases in Korea, but "IT'S A TRAP" should have been the title track", "I can't believe she's also trying to be kawaii in Japan. This is even faker than when Secret and 2NE1 tried to be copy J-Pop style.", and "Who is Tiffany Taeyeon and why is HyunA singing about her?"
